  • When not in the UK, Nick has a commitment to development in himself and others and works with a number of training organisations and partners in the UK and South Africa.

Training Director

  • Charlie has a wealth of experience leading large organisational and national programmes, delivering talent management, L&D and OD strategies both in the UK and Internationally.
  • Among many other senior roles he was Head of Leadership and Talent for the College of Policing until recently and has also led high potential development schemes and diversity programmes. He has also been a tutor with the Open University Business School and for cross-sector leadership programmes.
  • He is a fellow of the CIPD, holds an MBA, and a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors and his strategic understanding is invaluable to Enlighten.


Operations Manager

  • Sharron has been a highly regarded PA and Operational co-ordinator, working at C suite level with excellent communication skills, liaising with senior stakeholders, high profile public figures across a variety of fast-paced organisations including in technology, property, legal services, engineering and the public sector.
  • She is a dedicated volunteer youth worker volunteering her time and expertise to mentor and support some of the most vulnerable in society and assisting them in finding diversionary measures from street crime and gangs.
  • Sharron is a positive and cheerful member of the team with great relational skills, troubleshooting capabilities and managing a range of projects simultaneously.


Project Manager

  • Peter joined Enlighten after 12 years at Japanese multinational Mitsui & Co. Ltd. During his time at Mitsui, he worked in a wide range of Accounting, Business Process Management and Internal Audit functions, and was involved in several large projects, including IT system rollouts and the establishment of centralised accounting services across the EMEA region.
  • He has also established monitoring and auditing procedures across a range of departments, accounting and business functions. He specialises in building efficient and effective business processes, and is committed to delivery of excellence.


Business Support/Office Manager

  • Prior to joining Enlighten Danielle spent 8 years in hospitality successfully managing several thriving businesses.
  • She is an experienced organiser with excellent customer service skills.
  • She is responsible for liaising with our clients, both business and the public and providing the level of service of which we are so proud.
  • Her organisational abilities assist with the smooth management of our courses and client relations. Everyone needs a Dani!


Board Advisor

  • Mary has extensive experience of leadership in the public sector and of delivering consultancy services to government. She has deep expertise in risk identification and mitigation, crisis management and leadership of transformational change in the public sector.
  • She spent 25 years in UK government, working at senior levels in a range of law enforcement and security organisations, including the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
  • Her last government roles were in the Home Office, firstly as Director for National Security and then as Director General for Crime, Policing and Fire. She was a member of the Home Office Executive Management Board.
  • After leaving the Civil Service, Mary joined McKinsey & Company, the global consultancy, as one of the leaders of the UK Public Sector Practice, serving clients in law enforcement, justice and security around the world.
  • Mary now runs her own consulting business, focussed on law enforcement and security. She is a Non-Executive Director of the National Crime Agency.


Board Advisor

  • Nick has substantial experience of critical risk-management, delivery and transformation roles at the very highest levels of the police service.
  • He has exceptional strategic skills as well as a track record of delivering organisational change and operational performance in politicised environments.
  • His police career began with Leicestershire Constabulary, where he worked in uniform and detective roles leading major events and serious crime investigations.
  • He also served in Thames Valley Police as Assistant Chief Constable and Avon and Somerset Constabulary as Chief Constable.
  • He was also CEO of the National Policing Improvement Agency, leading the primary interface between the police service and the technology supplier community throughout the period of its closure.
  • In his time as a chief officer, he was national spokesman for Covert Investigation, Legislation, Criminal Intelligence, and Finance.
  • Since leaving policing he has developed a successful consulting practice, giving strategic advice to organisations in the police technology and training markets.


Board Advisor

  • Originally from Bangladesh where her father was in government and her mother a pioneer in women’s education, Shaheen was among the first batch of 3 women architects in Bangladesh.
  • After a brief career as a University lecturer she went to Japan on a scholarship offered by the Japanese Ministry of Education to do her Masters in Architecture at Kyoto University.
  • She worked at various architectural practices in London before moving into senior roles including Head of Community Development and Equalities, Head of Community Partnerships, Assistant Director Social Services (Commissioning) for Waltham Forest Council and undertaking a myriad of charitable work.
  • Whilst at Waltham Forest she was the lead officer for a project on Domestic Violence in partnership with the Metropolitan Police, Social Services and voluntary sector in several EU countries.
  • Currently she is an Executive Member of the Gandhi Foundation, Chair of the Board of MIND in Bexley and is involved with many other organisations.
  • In 2001 she was awarded the MBE for services to Community Relations which remain extremely important to her.
